Q: FSXFollow does not send screenshots
A: Solution:
FSXFollow assumes you have the english version of FSX installed.
On a Win7 or Vista machines it looks for the following folder.
"C:\Users\MyName\Pictures/Flight Simulator X Files"
where MyName is your account name.
If you e.g. have the german version of FSX installed, the folder where your FSX screenshots are stored is called "C:\Users\MyName\Pictures/Flight Simulator X-Dateien"
How to make FSXFollow to point to your language native folder without altering the program code?
The solution is called "SoftLinks". Follow these steps:
If you are using Win7 or Vista, make sure you have admin rights!
* Open a DOS console
* enter
mklink /J "C:\Users\MyName\Pictures\Flight Simulator X Files"
"C:\Users\MyName\Pictures\Flight Simulator X-Dateien"
(in one line and take caution of the "" marks!)
When entering the "...\Pictures\Flight Simulator X Files" folder, one will be redirected to "...\Pictures/Flight Simulator X-Dateien" or whatever your folder is called.
This link can be deleted as usual with the Explorer.
Q: The screenshots of my cockpit remain black
A: If you have multiple monitors, and FSX is not running at your main monitor, screenshots could be black.
We are thinking about a solution, in the mean time, move your active window to your main monitor
Q: Can I make screenshots of the map or cockpit?
A: It's not implemented (yet), but you can still use the default way to make a screenshot:
simply press and hold the Home button then press and release the Sleep/Wake button (on top right of the iPhone/iPad).
Your iPhone/iPad will flash briefly and the screenshot will be added to your camera roll.
Q: After update 1.2 I can't switch between map and satellite...
A: You can choose for map-view or satellite view and smart zoom (or not) in the settings tab. In next release it
will be made easier.
Q: I get the following error 'Application has failed to start because side by side
configuration is incorrect' What goes wrong?
A: You might need to install Microsoft redistributables: RuntimeLibsvC90 and/or
RuntimeLibsvC05
Q: No screenshots appear, why is that?
A: The screenshot function only works with FSX, it's not supported (by fs9/fs2004) in older function. In a future release
of FSXFollow (and the pc-client) it will be supported. If you do have FSX, you can try to restart the fsxfollow
pc client and reconnect (when you are on the runway or flying)
